What exactly is a cleanser and why do I need one?

There are a few different types of cleansers, including oil cleansers and gel cleansers. Our CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Balancing Cleanser is a cream cleanser, an ideal choice for those with dry or sensitive skin as they can offer moisturizing benefits and help to cleanse skin without stripping it of natural oils.
How about a moisturizer?
Moisturizers, also called emmolients, are products that help your skin feel soft and supple by addressing dryness and locking hydration in. Moisturizers can also contain other ingredients to treat and nourish skin in additional ways. For example, our CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Soothing Moisturizer draws on Buriti Oil and Bilberry Seed Extract to help prevent water loss and strengthen the skin barrier but also features Pequi Oil, Avocado Oil, and Vitamin E to help protect your skin from free-radical damage.
Wait - what’s a free radical?
In simple terms, free radicals are unstable molecules that can wreak havoc on your skin. They can come from smog, dust, cigarette smoke, and the sun. When they interact with your skin they can cause discoloration, brown spots, collagen breakdown, and wrinkles. Antioxidants, like the Vitamin E found in our CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Soothing Moisturizer, can help to protect your skin against free radical damage.
CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Balancing Cleanser exfoliates skin… does it contain plastic microbeads?
Nope! You’ll never find plastic microbeads in our products because they can tear and scar skin, and build up in waterways where they poison aquatic animals when ingested. Instead, this cleanser features a natural and mild AHA/BHA Grape Extract blend to gently exfoliate skin.
Since it contains AHA, is CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Balancing Cleanser safe to use during the day?
Our gentle AHA/BHA Grape Extract blend aims to delicately exfoliate skin and, in turn, unlock a host of other benefits such as helping to prevent acne breakouts and increasing absorption of the next products in your routine. However, it may also increase your skin’s sensitivity to sunlight. That’s why it’s important to maintain standard sun safety measures like wearing sunscreen every day and limiting your exposure to direct sunlight.
Can I use CLEAN RESERVE Buriti Balancing Cleanser and Buriti Soothing Moisturizer if I have sensitive skin?
Yes! Both products are gentle enough for sensitive skin and can be used by all skin types.
